LCD screens can now be seen on many electronic products, and there
are many types of LCD screens, including TN type, HTN type, STN
type, FSTN type, TFT type and many other types.
To put it simply, the LCD screen is filled with liquid crystal
material between two parallel plates, and the voltage can be used
to change the arrangement of molecules inside the liquid crystal
material, so as to achieve the purpose of shading and transmitting
light to display different shades, and the power consumption of the
LCD screen is very low, so it is favored by consumers.
This time, let's take a look at the segment code LCD, also known as
segment LCD, is the most basic one of LCD products, segment LCD has
just begun to apply, mainly to replace LED digital tubes, it is
much lower than digital tube power consumption.
The pixel arrangement and shape of segmented liquid crystal are
very free, the most common is the field similar to digital tube, of
course, segmented liquid crystal can also be made into arbitrary
shapes, such as patterns, text, etc.
There are three display modes of segment liquid crystal, reflective
type, transmissive type, and transflective type. A reflective plate
is added behind the bottom polarizer of the reflective segment
liquid crystal, which is generally used in a well-lit environment.
The base polarizer of a transmissive segment liquid crystal is a
transmissive polarizer, and it requires continuous use of the
backlight to see the displayed content.
Transflective segmental liquid crystal is in between the above two,
the bottom polarizer can be partially reflective, generally with a
backlight, when the light is good, the backlight can be turned off,
and the backlight can be lit when the light is poor.
The display mode of segment LCD is also divided into positive
display and negative display, positive display refers to black
characters on a white background, and positive display is the best
in reflective and trans-reflective display; The negative display is
white on a black background, and the negative display is generally
used for the transmission type, plus the backlight is used.
The connection between the segment LCD screen and the circuit board
can be connected by pins, zebra strips, zebra paper, etc.
Segment LCD uses different colors of backlight to display different
colors.
