Mud vibrating screen is a mechanical filtration equipment that uses an excitation source to drive the screen box to perform specific trajectory vibration, causing the drilling fluid or slurry to produce throwing motion on the screen, achieving solid-liquid separation (large particle discharge, fine slurry sieving). ‌‌
Basic structure
Excitation system: The core is a vibration motor (vertical or horizontal), with an adjustable eccentric weight (balance block) installed at the shaft end. The amplitude and trajectory are controlled by adjusting the phase angle and excitation force.
Screening box and sieve: a tilted box that carries materials and is equipped with multiple layers of sieve screens (flat, wavy, or frame), mostly made of stainless steel (304/316L), responsible for graded filtration.
Supporting and shock-absorbing device: composed of spiral springs, rubber springs, or steel seats, supporting the screen box and isolating vibration transmission to the foundation.
Transmission and sealing: partially including belt transmission structure; Fully enclosed design with sealing rings (such as U-shaped/V-shaped rings) to prevent slurry splashing and leakage, especially optimized for high viscosity slurry.
Discharge system: equipped with a chip discharge port (solid phase) and an overflow port (liquid phase), the discharge direction can be rotated and adjusted to adapt to the process. ‌‌
Working Principle
Excitation generation: The motor rotates to drive the eccentric heavy hammer, converting the rotational motion into a composite vibration of horizontal, vertical, and inclined (linear, elliptical, or three-dimensional trajectory).
Material throwing: Vibration is transmitted to the inclined screen surface, causing continuous throwing motion of the slurry due to impact. The material layer is loose and layered, and small particles settle to the lower layer.
Sieve separation: Liquid phase and fine particles smaller than the sieve hole are sieved into the circulation system; Drill cuttings/solid particles larger than the sieve hole are moved along the sieve surface towards the chip discharge port under vibration thrust and discharged.
Parameter control: By adjusting the angle of the eccentric block to change the trajectory of material movement (such as vortex or linear propulsion), adjust the amplitude to balance the processing capacity and screen life. ‌‌
Note: In industrial settings, "mud vibrating screen" often refers to oil drilling solid control equipment (linear/elliptical vibration), while in the ceramic/chemical industry, it often refers to "rotary vibrating screen" (three-dimensional motion). The core principles of the two are the same, but the structural details vary depending on the material characteristics (dry powder/high viscosity slurry). ‌‌
