Designed for reliable detection of trucks, trailers, buses, and other high chassis vehicles, this high sensitivity vehicle loop detector provides stable vehicle presence monitoring for parking, industrial, traffic, and access control applications. It works with an inductive loop installed beneath the road surface and detects changes in loop inductance as a vehicle enters, remains within, or leaves the sensing area. The detector then sends relay signals to connected equipment such as barrier gates, industrial doors, cameras, weighbridge controllers, toll systems, and access control panels.

Its Automatic Sensitivity Boost function is especially valuable for vehicles with high ground clearance, long wheelbases, or uneven metal distribution. After the vehicle is initially detected, ASB increases sensitivity to help maintain continuous recognition while the vehicle passes over the loop. This reduces the possibility of signal loss beneath trailers, semi-trailers, buses, and heavy trucks, where the metal profile may vary significantly between the front axle, chassis, and rear section.

The detector provides 16 selectable sensitivity levels, allowing installers to fine-tune performance according to loop size, installation depth, vehicle type, and local electromagnetic conditions. Its wide 15–2000 μH inductance range supports different loop dimensions, shapes, and turn configurations. Four selectable operating frequencies help reduce crosstalk when multiple loops are installed close together, making the unit suitable for multi-lane entrances, adjacent weighing zones, and busy logistics facilities.

Configurable relay modes support entry pulse, exit pulse, and continuous presence output. Permanent presence mode can keep the output active for as long as a vehicle remains above the loop, while adjustable release delays from 0 to 30 seconds help coordinate barrier closing, gate hold-open control, camera triggering, and equipment reset. Physical DIP switches simplify on-site setup, and LED indicators assist with vehicle detection and loop fault diagnosis.

Indicates And Switch:

(1)Power Led: RED Power LED Indicates “Power ON”

Detecting Led: Continuously On: Indicates vehicle detection.
Blinking slowly: Indicates loop is short circuit or the number of twists after the loop is not enough.
Blinking fast: Indicates loop is open circuit or too many twists after the loop.

(2)Switch 1 (Trimpot), Sensitivity Selection

Sensitivity of the loop can be adjusted by the trimpot labeled “Sensitivity”. User can select 16 different setting by turning the trimpot with 0 being the least sensitive and “F” being the most sensitive.

In the application, where two or more loop detectors and sensing loops have been installed, set one detector to high frequency and the other set to low frequency to minimize the effects of cross-talk between the two systems(The sensing loops and detectors should be positioned at least 2m apart).
Reset Button:Please note: The LD-100 must be reset every time a setting change is made to the Dip switches.

Detector Position And Installation:

Install the detector in a weatherproof housing.
The detector should be as close to the sensing loop as possible.
The detector should always be installed away from strong magnetic fields.
Avoid running high voltage wires near the loop detectors.
Do not install the detector on vibrating objects.
When the control box is installed within 10 metres of the loop, normal wires can be used to connect the control box to the loop. More than 10 metres requires the use of a 2 core shielded cable. Do not exceed 30 metres distance between control box and loop.

Loop Installation:

The loops are sealed using a “quick-set” black epoxy compound or hot bitumen mastic to blend with the roadway surface.
