Installation Procedures
- Support the hood: One person holds the engine hood to keep it
stable and secure.
- Mark alignment positions: Mark the matching joints between hinges
and the hood for accurate positioning during reinstallation.
- Remove hinge-to-hood bolts: Use a 10mm socket wrench to take off
bolts connecting hinges and the hood (2 to 3 bolts per side).
Recommended tightening torque: 9–11 N·m.
- Remove hinge-to-body bolts: Use 10mm and 12mm socket wrenches to
undo bolts securing hinges to the vehicle body (2 to 3 bolts per
side). Recommended tightening torque: 16.7–25.5 N·m.
- Remove old hinges: Take out the original hinges from mounting
points.
- Clean mounting surfaces: Clear rust and dirt on body mounting
areas.
- Fit new hinges: Align new hinges with mounting holes and lightly
fasten body-side bolts.
- Mount the hood: Line up the engine hood with new hinges, fit fixing
bolts and tighten loosely.
- Adjust panel gaps: Tune the gap between hood and fenders to ensure
proper alignment.
- Torque down bolts: Tighten all bolts to specified torque values
with a torque wrench.
- Test opening & closing: Open and close the hood 3 to 5 times
repeatedly to check smooth movement and eliminate abnormal noises.
