Isolated temperature transmitter is a type of temperature transmitter that adopts electrical isolation technology among the input circuit (sensor side), output circuit (control system side), and power supply circuit, suitable for high-voltage, strong-interference or high-risk environments.

Isolation Principles and Types

Isolation Type	Working Principle	Characteristics and Applications
Photoelectric Isolation	Utilizes optocouplers. Electrical signals drive LEDs to emit light, and photosensitive devices receive the light signals and convert them back into electrical signals. The conversion from electrical to optical and then back to electrical achieves electrical isolation.	Most commonly used. Moderate cost, high bandwidth, and good reliability. Electromagnetic Isolation (Transformer Isolation)	Utilizes miniature transformers. Energy and signals are transferred through magnetic coupling. Commonly used in applications with extremely high precision requirements (such as Pt100), but relatively high cost and larger size.
Capacitive Isolation	Utilizes high-performance isolation capacitors to couple high-frequency signals.	High integration, often used in chip-level designs, and commonly found in modular transmitters.

Function Integration: Modern isolation transmitters are usually intelligent transmitters that support protocols such as HART and feature self-diagnosis and remote configuration capabilities.
Integrated Isolation Transmitter: The isolation circuit and the transmitter circuit are integrated within the sensor junction box or protective conduit, forming a single unit. This offers the most convenient installation.

Monitoring of power and electrical equipment: temperature monitoring of generator/motor windings, transformers, and high-voltage switch cabinets.
Intrinsic safety explosion-proof systems: temperature measurement in hazardous areas such as chemical and petrochemical plants.
