supports Modicon’s proprietary Modbus communication protocol. The

for interfacing a copper link with a fiber optic link on the
primary ring or interfacing a fiber optic link with a copper link.
This type of architecture makes it possible to have Ethernet DIO or
Ethernet RIO drops some distance away from the PLC. The switch
preconfiguration also enables Ethernet RIO and/or several Ethernet
DIO device clouds to be connected to a secondary ring.

Is there a fiber optic distance requirement between the 140CHS11000
modules in a Quantum Hot Standby System?
The fiber optic distance requirement between the 140CHS11000
modules is 3 meters which is the length of the supplied fiber
cable.
A maximum distance can be up to 1km using 62.5/125 micrometer fiber
cable with ST style connectors.

140CPU53414A PLC with Unity firmware and one with NxT firmware?
No. When using an NxT configuration in hot standby, both PLCs must
have NxT firmware. When using a Unity Quantum hot standby
configuration, only specific hot standby controllers can be used.
The 140CPU43412A and 140CPU53414A PLCs are not supported in Unity
Hot Standby configurations.
