In a gravity pallet rack system, the racking structure consists of inclined roller tracks or conveyor lanes. The pallets are loaded onto the higher end of the rack, and due to the force of gravity, they flow or slide down the inclined tracks to the lower end.

The gravity flow rack operates on the principle of "first in, first out" (FIFO). As pallets are loaded onto the higher end, they automatically move forward as the previously loaded pallets are removed from the picking face at the lower end. This continuous flow of pallets ensures efficient stock rotation and minimizes the need for manual handling.
