During well control operations, high-pressure hydraulic oil from control systems enters the close-cavity beneath the piston through the housing oil outlet. This pressure drives the plastic core upward along the ball surface, causing bearing tendons to converge and compress the rubber material toward the well center. This action effectively seals around drilling tools or creates a complete wellhead seal. For opening, hydraulic oil enters the open cavity above the piston, pushing the piston downward and allowing the plastic core to reset through its natural elasticity, thereby opening the wellhead.
