True Zero Order λ/4 Quarter Wave Plate, Large Feild Angle, for imaging systems

Overview:
Comparing with normal two plates design Zero order waveplates having a relatively larger thickness which reduces the field angle, the True zero order wave plates are made of a very thin plate or cemented with a BK7 substrate, which ensures the best possible field angle, temperature and wavelength performance.
If the angle between the electric field vector of the linearly polarized incident beam and the retarder principal plane of the quarter-waveplate is 45°, the emergent beam is circularly polarized. When a quarter wave plate is double-passed, such as by mirror reflection, it acts as a half wave plate and rotates the plane of polarization to a certain angle. Quarter wavep lates are used to create circular from linear polarization or vice versa, as well as for ellipsometry, optical pumping, suppressing unwanted reflection and optical isolation.
True zero order waveplate is also an ideal case of optical waveplate for the applications where a large filed angle is necessary, such as imaging systems.
