Description of iridium
As a noble metal, iridium is a member of the platinum group. The surface is silvery white with a yellowish tint, resembling the color of platinum. Due to its very high melting point (2447°C), it is the most corrosion-resistant metallic element known. Because of its good thermoelectric performance and high temperature ablation resistance.
