The sectors that susceptible margin erosion of steel

Steel, consumer products and manufacturing are the sectors most susceptible to margin erosion following the raising of electricity tariffs on July 1, analysts said.
While all companies would be hit, they said those in these three sectors could be the first to see a margin erosion, as the steepness of the tariff hike meant they would not be able to passon all of the cost increase immediately.
In the case of the steel industry, however, Mak Hoy Ken ofAmResearch said the electricity tariff hike would have varyingimpacts on different players.
