A hydrocyclone is a device to classify, separate or sort particles
in a liquid suspension based on the ratio of their centripetal
force to fluid resistance. The feed is introduced under pressure
through the tangential entry at a high speed. The motion of feed,
mix of media and material particles forms centrifugal force field.
Under the force field, including centrifugal force, media viscosity
resistance, buoyancy force, gravity, etc, the trajectories of
particles (or liquid phase) are different due to their different
sizes, densities. The coarse particles (or liquid phase) or
particles (or liquid phase) with high density, motion to periphery,
and will be discharged through apex of the vortex.
The fine particles (or liquid phase) or particles (or liquid phase)
with low density, motion to the core, and will be discharged
through vortex finder. Therefore, the separation of particles by
the fineness and density is achieved.
Combination with grinding mills in closed-circuit classification;

Desliming before tailings impoundment;
Degritting in non-metallic minerals processing;
Classification and desliming before gravity separation;
Thickening before tailings convey;
Oil-sand, oil-water separation operation in oil taping industry.
The feed inlet is specially designed as to reduce the wearing and
stabilize the feed flow.
The inner lining is made of the advanced CNU wear-resistance
material co-developed with Ukraine.
The special design of the column and cone enable the enlargement
classification space; reduce the particle size of spigot products,
and mineral particles in qualified particles size fraction. CZ
hydro cyclones’ application in industries has proved its higher
efficiency (10~20% higher than conventional hydro cyclones).

In order to improve the throughput of secondary grinding mill, CZ
350 hydro cyclones are used in closed circuit in secondary grinding
in Fankou Zinc-lead ore.

In order to reduce the particle size of grinding products, CZ500
hydro cyclones have been used to replace Krebs hydro cyclones in
secondary grinding in Baotou iron ore-dressing plant.
The results indicate that the secondary ball mill q-200 mesh is
0.636t/m3h, increased by 15%; the overall overflow size -200 mesh
93.15%, increased by 6.09%; the classification efficiency increased
The tailings separation in Fankou Zinc-Lead Ore.
The feed density is 22.53%, -19m 37.28%. The spigot product rate is
60.37%, density is 70.94%. -19m size fraction recovery rate is
88.90%. The classification efficiency is 76.07%. CZ hydro cyclones
have solved the problems of sand in tailings, enabling the
sustainable development of Fankou Zinc-Lead Ore.
