Description features:


To make tempered glass, float or decorative glass is heated to the temperature of 600 C (plasticity limit) and is then quickly cooled by air. Because the interior of the glass cools more slowly than the surface, the surface is placed under compression stress, while the interior is exposed to tensile stress.

In this way, we obtain glass that is characterized by excellent mechanical and thermal properties. In case of breakage, tempered glass breaks into a multitude of small fragments with rounded edges. After having been thermally toughened, tempered glass cannot be processed any further. Therefore, cutting, grinding and drilling must be done before tempering.
