Mobiles in a dead zone cannot connect to a BTS. Extending radio coverage into these dead zones using the R16-GD allows mobile phones to establish a connection. The R16-GD is connected via coaxial cables to the donor and service antennas. The donor antenna is placed outside a building where it has easy access to a BTS signal. The service antenna is installed indoor in the area that requires the signal extension.
