I purchased the bike from a friend sometime around 1997 and added theJudy XC fork, 1 1/8" AheadSet and Icon Stem. Shimano XTR RearDeraileur, XTR 8spd Cassette, and XTR V-Brakes were added in 1998 aswell as a new Bottom Braket, Chain, Shimano XT shifters and brakelevers. In the same year, a new Rear Wheel was built to be strong butlightweight using a Sun Rims Zero Degree XC rim laced to a WhiteIndustries Hub. The following year, the Front Wheel was replaced witha Mavic X221 radially laced to a Specialized Stout Hub. Tires areMichelin Wild Gripper Comp S. In 2002, I purchased my new bike and theTrek has seen light duty riding only a handful of times since then. Bike has been well-maintained but does have some scratches.
