Eliyahu Yahel, one of the greatest researchers of herbs in Israel, established Moraz Medicinal Herbs Ltd. in 1984 in partnership with a number of cooperative communities in the north of the country. The aim of the new company was to study the amazing properties of the polygonum plant in particular, and other plants in general, and find ways of utilizing these properties for producing healing and skincare products. In the following years, the company created a broad and varied range of products, including dozens of unique paramedical and cosmetic products for the skin. In 2004, Moraz was bought by Antan Investment GmbH, owned by Robert Faktor and various Israeli investors, which began branding the company and marketing it to pharmacies. Today, the demand for Moraz products is increasing in many western countries, and its products are marketed in various states including Israel, England, France, Cyprus and Norway. With the comprehensive knowledge collected over the years in Moraz laboratories, the healing constituents of many plants have been extracted, and various formulas have been created in which the percentage of active ingredients is remarkably high ?from 75% to 100% ?ensuring particularly effective products. The results from a series of clinical and laboratory tests carried out in Israel and abroad over the years unequivocally support what has already been acknowledged: the impressive efficacy of Moraz products. Moraz uses 15 plants native to Israel in its products, the most notable among them being polygonum. The plants are grown organically, without the use of poisonous sprays, under the watchful professional eye of company members. Moraz? polygonum fields spread from the Galilee in the north, through the breathtaking Jezreel Valley to the spectacular expanses of the Negev Desert. Moraz products contain no animal ingredients and are not tested on animals.
According to the legend, there once lived a young girl in the Jezreel Valley who loved climbing trees, playing with animals and walking barefoot through the fields. As you can imagine, a girl like this would return home each day smiling and happy, but also a little bruised, with her feet scratched by the thorns and brambles that she encountered. During her wanderings, the girl discovered a beautiful wild meadow where she loved to play, and ?wonder of wonders ?her wounds would healed unaided.
Her father, who saw the miracle with his own eyes, went with his daughter to where she played and discovered a field of wild polygonum. Happily for us all, her father was none other than Eliyahu Yahel, the renowned researcher of herbs ?the very same Eliyahu who revealed the properties of the polygonum plant and founded Moraz. Today, while that young girl is already a grown woman, millions of people all over the world are benefiting from the wonderful healing properties of polygonum, thanks to the small girl and her perceptive father. Polygonum is a wild annual, with smooth elongated dark green leaves, that grows throughout Israel during the summer. It gets its Latin name, Polygonum aviculare, or in Hebrew, ?rkovit ha?siporim?(?ird? polygonum? because of its seeds, much loved by birds. The unique climate and soils of Israel makes this region ideal for the plant, which grows here at its best ?with optimal biochemical properties. The roots of the polygonum plant have been found to contain effective antiviral and antibacterial agents, effective against ulcers and for stopping hemorrhages, maintaining a good complexion and balancing and building tissues.
