This technique is used primarily for effect, with translucent marble /granite being used to give a luminous highlight to the decoration. This glass on marble can be lit from behind bar lights, or if you have access to it, natural light, so the full beauty of the marble can be viewed. Uses for such an application include: feature walls, bar tops, skylights, and as a replacement for conventional windows. In conjunction with backlighting this feature provides extraordinary effects.
